This is the location for the filming of the movie “Shawshank Redemption”.
PPO rents out the entire facility that evening for our group only that evening. Our group receives access to areas not normally open during public tours. Bring your own models to photograph, or follow other photographers around to see how they photograph in the prison. Bring your own lighting of preference and wander around freely, just make sure it’s portable!

The Ohio State Reformatory is a massive three-level building built on a 40-acre lot. We are limited to about 50 photographers plus models. In 2021 and 2022, with photographers, assistants, and models, we had close to 200 attendees. That may seem like a lot of people but the facility is so large, you could wander around for an hour without seeing another person!

We are also hosting an image competition specifically for images shot at Mansfield Mayhem! $5 per entry - see registration page for more information.

Once you have done your photographer registration, make sure to go back to the MayhemStore and register any Models/Assistants/Chaperones you will be bringing before checking out.

Every attendee to the Mansfield Reformatory must complete a Model Release form in order to be in the facility. We will email you the Model Release form a week before the event. Save time! Complete your forms and bring them with you to the reformatory. NO ONE IS ADMITTED WITHOUT THESE FORMS!

This category is for anyone attending but not shooting that evening. Everyone entering the facility must be registered and have a completed release. NO EXCEPTIONS! Each photographer may bring up to a TOTAL of Eight in any combination of Models and Assistants/Chaperones.
