Developing Vision: Reframing the Expected
What if the first photograph is only the beginning? Developing Vision explore show we can move beyond what we first notice and begin to see more in what is already in front of us.
Through inspiration, experimentation, and guided creative challenges, photographers can learn to approach familiar subjects in new and unexpected ways.
This class is not about photographing in one particular style. It is about expanding the number of choices you have, so you can approach portraits, landscapes, details, events, or everyday subjects with greater intention and flexibility.
From the moment we notice a subject through the final edit, intentional choices expand what an image can become.
What you’ll explore:
Discover the photographs you're missing. Move beyond the first or most obvious shot and learn to see more in what's already in front of you.
Use creative constraints to interrupt familiar habits. Simple limitations can push you past your usual way of shooting and lead somewhere unexpected.
Draw inspiration from outside photography. Art, design, and the world around you can become starting points for new images.
Leave with tools, not just inspiration. Practical exercises you can return to whenever your photography starts to feel predictable or stuck.
This is a PPA continuing education class. All PPA members in good standing will receive a merit for attending.
